Study on Possible Countywide EMS Service Started for Ross County

The next big step in a possible countywide EMS service has been taken. Kevin Coleman was at the commissioners' meeting.

The Ross County Commissioners signed a contract Monday morning, with a company to recommend how best to improve ambulance service across the county.

This was after the 16 townships were given a month to report back on how much they would contribute towards the $84,900 price tag. Dwight Garrett, president of the Ross County Commissioners, said they won't have all of the townships on board for funding, but he's not concerned - he said they just want the county taken care of.

The county is paying for at least half of the study, which is expected to take several months.

Some of the townships have paid EMS, versus volunteers...or a cooperative agreement for coverage from other townships...so their need for a countywide service is different.

Hear Garrett in Kevin's interview below, as well as Kevin's radio report. Read Kevin's reports on countywide EMS meetings in August of 2022, and in 2023, January and February...and the meeting of the townships May 4th.
