ODOT's Timeline for North Bridge Street Work: Moving Utilities After Summer

While asking other questions on ODOT's plans locally, Kevin Coleman got an update on the planned Bridge Street work.

About a year and a half ago, the highway department hosted an open house to show what they planned for Chillicothe's North Bridge Street.

Matt McGuire, Public Information Officer for District 9, says they have half to three quarters of the funding committed, with planning and design underway.

Right now, he says they're reviewing additional right-of-way, and they plan property acquisition probably this summer. McGuire says there will then probably be close to a year spent on just utility relocation: electrical, phone, water, gas lines - a massive effort.

He expects actual construction to start in 2025, and take two years.

The ODOT website has a status page and information summary / description page for the project. Previously, Kevin reported on McGuire's description of plans to improve interconnections between State Route 159 and the US 23 freeeway.
