Saturday’s Health Fair at Ohio University Chillicothe was a bit of a class project. The annual event on the hilltop included a “touch-a-truck” display as well as a hayride around the campus, but the focus was on wellness, and the school’s nursing students were there in force.
At the event’s main table, Britney Hamman, Assistant Professor of Pediatric Nursing, said the community projects of their senior students revolved around health and safety, and the students had set them up on tables in the event.
I interviewed Hamman along with Sarah Coates, Assistant Professor of Instruction in Nursing, and Cynthia Fannin, Assistant Professor in Nursing, at the end of the event. Nursing is one of a few degrees that can be completed at the Chillicothe campus.
Hear them in their own words, as well as see some of the outdoor activities on October 5th, 2024.
Speaking of health – specifically outdoor exercise – see also my story on what the Ross County Park District is offering this fall. They had a display at the event (and their director Myranda Vance even gave some kickboxing advice from the YMCA).
Ohio University Chillicothe has a website, as well as a Facebook page (among other social media). See also their photos of the event.
