Jason Link, the pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Chillicothe, is running for one of the county commissioner seats. He spoke at a meet-and-greet at the Republican Women of Ross County on Wednesday, February 21st.
He said the church brought him to Ross County nine years ago, and he lives in the historic parsonage behind the church on Mead Drive off Belleview Avenue.
Last year, he spoke to Chillicothe Council about the controversy over livestock in the city because he had two children with 4-H animals. He said that got him into local politics, and now with his children nearing the end of their high school careers, he said his wife agreed it was a good time for him to try for local office.

In his evening meet-and-greet, he had two big topics. He said the Ross County Jail is landlocked, and one solution would be to make it a city jail, with a county jail elsewhere.
The other was solar farms versus property rights. There was a consensus that the recent growth of solar cells is using good farmland, and they may not be as “green” as presumed – but Ross County is unzoned, and the solar farms can’t be prohibited.

He is running against incumbent Oody Lowe. Ken Shelton and David Glass are competing for the other commissioner seat that Dwight Garrett is retiring from.
