The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 13 of their cases Friday, February 2nd, 2024, with four open for release to the public. From testimony in the grand jury in one of the cases, according to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office:
On Decemebr 27th, a Ross County Sheriff’s sergeant was dispatched to a stolen vehicle near US 50 and State Route 227, where a Liberty Township Assistant Fire Chief was with a stolen fire / brush truck.
The sergeant then visited 23-year-old Bradley L. Krathefer at his residence at 35682 US 50 near the intesection, who said he had taken it after walking into the back door of the fire department. He said he had “every right to that truck as anyone else” because he is CPR certified.
Video footage shows Krathefer walking around inside the firehouse for a while before taking the truck. Fire crews frequently see Krathefer walking around in the area.
Krathefer was charged after a victim returned home August 15th, 2021, to find someone had been inside, who left open food on the counter, feces on the toilet seat, and cigarette butts on a smokeless ash tray. He reviewed video footage to see Krathefer entering a bedroom window, watch the television, and leave the next day…only to repeat the home invasion that day.
The Ross County Prosecutor’s Office is not aware of a psychiatric assessment of Fisher.
For indictment on breaking and entering, Fisher could get up to a year and $2,500 in fines. (B&E includes the theft of the truck, so there is no separate charge for grand theft auto.)
