There’s an event coming up this Saturday in downtown Chillicothe aimed at showcasing offerings from several Ohio-based and nationally recognized craft beer breweries.

The downtown organization Downtown Chillicothe will present its inaugural Brewfest this Saturday, June 3rd. The event opens at 3:00 p.m. along North Paint Street between Second and Water streets.

Downtown Chillicothe’s Elizabeth Kunzelman says there will be multiple craft breweries set up at Saturday’s Brewfest along with some offerings from local eateries and live music.

“We have 17 Ohio breweries that will be present, said Kunzelman. “We are closing North Paint Street from Water to Second. That’s where the breweries will be set up. We’ve got great music and food. It’ll be a lot of fun.”

The list of breweries participating in Saturday’s Brewfest are:

  • Old Capital Brewing
  • Fifty West Brewing Company
  • Brewery 33
  • Cooked Can
  • Grove City Brewery
  • Land Grant Brewing Company
  • Loose Rail Brewing
  • Nocterra Brewing Company
  • Outerbelt Brewing
  • Scotty’s 22-Brew
  • Seventh Son Brewing
  • Sixth Sense Brewing
  • TinCap
  • Wild Ohio
  • Wolf’s Ridge
  • Classic Brands Chillicothe

Kunzelman says in addition to the beer, there will also be a few area restaurants on hand at Brewfest offering limited food selections.

“The Pour House will have some pretzels and beer cheese,” said Kunzelman. “Fire and Stone Pizza will have pizza by the slice as well as some burgers and chicken sandwiches. Hometown Hibachi will be offering up some Hibachi they’ll be cooking up, and then Gustavo’s will also have some tacos available, so there will be some great food to accompany all the great beers.”

In addition to the craft brews and food offerings, Kunzelman says one lucky person will leave Brewfest with a new bicycle.

“New Belgium creates these special limited-edition bicycles, and one will be raffled off during the event,” said Kunzelman. “So, while you’re there you’ll be able to buy raffle tickets. The drawing will take place at the event so you may be going home on your new bike.”

The live musical entertainment will be provided by a trio of local bands. Flashback Acoustic Party performs from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the band Murphy will then follow from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and The Basement Collective closes out the event with their performance taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Brewfest will only be open to adults aged 21 and over with a $40 admission.

“With a $40 ticket you get vouchers to do tastings,” said Kunzelman. “You’ll get 16 tastings which are each 5 ounces.”

There’s also a second ticket option for late comers to the event. Last Call tickets will allow you to enter Brewfest at 5:00 p.m. for only $20. Tastings conclude at 6:30 p.m. and the event wraps up at 7:00 p.m.
