We've had 1.5 to 2 inches of rain overnight, with another 1.5 to 2 inches expected, so better check that sump pump...and watch for ponding on roads and flooding in valleys - remember: Turn around, don't drown!
A flood watch will is effect through this Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued they advisory on Thursday morning. They say excessive rainfall runoff over from recent rains could bring potential for the flooding of local rivers and creeks, or other low lying flood prone areas. Motorists are advised to be mindful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
The advisory covers parts of western and much of southwestern Ohio, extending eastward to Chillicothe, Portsmouth and Marietta. Forecasters say three or more inches of rain could fall in some areas of the state by Saturday afternoon, with most areas expected to see around one to two inches of rainfall.
Again, the flood watch was issued on Thursday and will remain in place until Saturday afternoon.
