City Now Owns Future Sixth Ward Park

A gift of a park from a former councilwoman is now official. Kevin Coleman reports from Monday night's Chillicothe council.

The vacant lot on Wade Street at the corner of 4th Street, between East Main Street and the presidential streets, is now city property. Pat Patrick donated it with the intention of it becoming the first park in her former sixth ward.

Allison Henderson, interviewed below, saw the ordinance to accept it passed on third reading. She said the Tree Commission is making plans on how to beautify it with plantings, and Park & Recreation are discussing what kind of park they will turn it into.

Donor Pat Patrick lives right around the corner.
