The Ross County Grand Jury returned 32 of their 33 cases Friday, with two open. In one, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office:
On New Year's Eve, police were called to High Street in Chillicothe where a man was shot in the upper thigh from a vehicle. He was transported to Adena Regional, and then Grant, hospitals.
A witness followed the car and alerted police, where they caught up to it in the vicinity of Mill Street and Delano Avenue.
The driver, 19-year-old Robert Lee Bullard of 152 Park Street, close to the shooting, said his juvenile passenger had asked him for a ride, and they drove by the victim's house a third time before the passenger pulled a firearm from his waistband and shot at the victim.
After being stopped, the juvenile fled on foot but was captured, and claims the driver had done the shooting.
The victim was out adjusting a security camera after a previous incident that day where someone had thrown firecrackers into the yard.
For indictments on improperly discharging a firearm, and two counts of felonious assault, Bullard could get up to eight years and $15,000 in fines. His passenger, whose name is not being released, is in juvenile court for similar charges.
