The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce reports that more than twenty local businesses have signed on to their letter to the state House Energy and Natural Resources Committee backing House Bill 685, the "Energize Ohio" bill, which will create tax incentives for natural gas companies to extend their lines and create more developable land in rural areas.
The Chamber says this is an urgent need for future economic development in Ross County. It has been mentioned to the county commissioners that the reluctance and slow response of gas companies to lay new lines locally discourage expansion and new development.
