"Reimagine" at the Pump House through November

Most of this month's show at the Pump House Center for the Arts has been waiting since the fall of 2019. Kevin Coleman was at Thursday's opening.

Before COVID put it on hold, the Chillicothe Art League worked with the Carver Community Center to have some of their day care children, ages about five to nine, to submit a drawing. Members of the Art League then randomly got one of them to reinterpret.

Art League president Liz Conley said the project is a fundraiser for Carver's "Backpack" program. She says putting pencils, crayons, and paper in the backpacks will to inspire kids to be artistic.

A silent auction for the adult artist's reimaginings will continue until a second opening November 19th.

Through the end of the month, the show also includes the whimsical paper maché sculptures of "Lizardmania."
