The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 18 of their cases Friday, with two open.
In one, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, deputies were called to an address on Pleasant Valley Road where 22-year-old Caleb D. Simmons was arrested for threatening his grandmother.
But during booking at the jail, Simmons refused to cooperate. He pushed an officer, and spat in his eye and mouth.
For indictments on assault and harassment with a bodily substance, Simmons could get up to a year and $2,500 in fines. He did not have a contagious disease, but if he did, that would have allowed an enhancement of the charges.
In another, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on May 12th, a police officer saw a four-wheel ATV with no tags and no lights being ridden on South Watt Street.
After starting pursuit and turning on his lights and siren, the rider continued weaving around the area, running multiple stop signs and red lights, passing vehicles, exceeding the speed limit, and almost causing a crash at Main and Bridge. The officer ended pursuit and lost him, but a tip led to the ATV and rider.
19-year-old Cameron R. Henry of Massieville Road was indicted on failure to comply, and could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.
