The Pump House Center for the Arts held their annual meeting last night, and Kevin Coleman was there.
In the first gathering for members in more than two years, Pump House board president Mike Throne said they have worked on the building, and plan to do more.
He said they did outside painting and gutter work, and some inside painting. But the masonry needs help, including replacing more than 400 bricks and many stone lintels over doors and windows, so the Pump House got a $250,000 grant from the state to do that in the spring. Throne says they want to get local sponsorship to leverage that grant.
He said they also got an Ohio Arts Council grant to help pay for the monthly shows, and to add more art classes...though they will also be seeking local sponsorships for those.
Director John Payne also gave his report, outlining good income for the nonprofit and some good financial relationships with artists.
This month's "Art in Fabric" show was a backdrop for the meeting. Some members were absent, attending an art show opening in Jackson.
