The Ross County Grand Jury returned all nine of their cases Friday, with three open.
In one, a brother was indicted for domestic violence against his sister.
According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, and testimony by the victim...on June 29th, 23-year-old Dylan A. Downs entered the family home on Dogtown Road in a bad mood, looking for their mom.
He began shoving his sister, pushed her to the floor, took her phone to a bathroom...then punched her in head, ribs, back, and face while threatening to kill her...before running out.
A 2020 conviction for domestic violence made it a 4th degree felony, so for the indictment, Downs could get up to 18 months and $5,000 in fines.
In another, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on July 22nd, an officer recognized 33-year-old Ryan M. Ginter driving on East Main Street in Chillicothe, and knew he had an active felony warrant.
The officer attempted a stop for a traffic infraction, but Ginter accelerated, weaving through streets and alleys until crashing on East Fourth Street, where he ran on foot. He was shortly detained.
For indictments on failure to comply, Ginter could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.
