An Ohio Supreme Court judge visited Chillicothe Tuesday. Associate Justice Sharon Kennedy is running for chief justice this fall, so she says is giving each county a listening session.
She described it as a roundtable discussion for Ross County to gain perspective from the sheriff, community leaders, and business people.
Kennedy said she sees part of the job as a chief justice is to help communities set their own policies to fit local needs, and so she wants to visit each county in the state. She had a breakfast in Pickaway County, and then left for an afternoon visit in Pike.
Kennedy says her career as a police officer, private-practice attorney, common pleas trial judge, and then Ohio supreme court justice gives her a unique and helpful perspective which she described as "a 360-degree view of the criminal justice system."
The Ross County Republican Party and Republican Women of Ross County hosted the luncheon event.
