A Washington Court House man is in custody following the discovery Thursday that a woman had apparently been stabbed to death in a hotel room.
Police were called to the City Motel on Washington Street after the body of 38-year-old Annette Lowery was found in a room at the hotel.
37-year-old Jeremy Cottrell of Washington Court House had been staying the hotel with her for a few days. Lowery's body was discovered when a motel staffer came to notify the two that it was time to check out.
Police issued a "be on the lookout" Cottrell, who was reported driving a 2005 white Chevy Impala. A member of the Brushcreek Volunteer Fire Department heard the radio call, and spotted Cottrell's car behind the Wal-Mart in Hillsboro.
Cottrell was later apprehended and has been charged with murder.
