Elected city officials were sworn-in at noon Thursday.
Three county judges and a municipal court judge alternated having the Chillicothe auditor, treasurer, and six council members place their hand on a bible in courtroom number one.
After taking the oath, each official then sat in the jury box while their family returned to the audience.
In her closing remarks, Municipal Court judge Toni Eddy explained that it was a tradition set many years ago by previous members of the bench, to remind the officials that they are setting themselves apart to represent the community and not just themselves and their family.
Eddy also announced that the officials who were not present had been sworn-in earlier.
