The Ross County Commissioners hosted a meeting of the Ross County land bank Monday morning.
After focusing on demolishing abandoned buildings in Chillicothe, the "Ross County Land Reutilization Corporation" has been mostly dormant after funds dried up. But they are focusing on new funding possibilities, including the state offering a million dollars to each county for brownfield cleanup...with additional funds possible.
Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney chairs the board and explained that they don't have specific properties "in the pipeline" yet, but the meeting was a bit of a reorganization where they talked about funding sources and mentioned possible sites they are considering.
Feeney says, if you know of any old gas stations or industrial sites anywhere in the county that need cleaned up, to contact the city or county commissioners.
