Chillicothe Steel will benefit from a recent $20-thousand donation from Fluor-BWXT and the Joint Economic Development Initiative of Southern Ohio.
The donation will go toward Chillicothe Steel’s current expansion project. Chillicothe Steel plans to move from 106 S. McArthur Street and expand its operations to a new warehouse within Chillicothe’s Gateway Interchange Industrial Park.

The expansion is expected to help Chillicothe Steel meet customer demands and create additional jobs.
Chillicothe Steel President Jeff Crace hopes to bring around six to ten new jobs to the area within the next couple of years.
“We sell any type of steel product, aluminum, or stainless,” Crace said. “We burn it, cut it, shear it or send it out full. We send out about 10 trucks a day, fill about 100 orders on an average day and cover most of Ohio, part of Kentucky and West Virginia and are growing rapidly.”
The family-owned company has been operating in Chillicothe for nearly 30 years. Their future facility at the Gateway Interchange Industrial Park will be close to the FedEx office on Industrial Drive.
“The new facility will help them increase efficiency because they will be able to lay out the footprint that best works for them,” said Tammy Eallonardo, Economic Development Director for Greater Chillicothe and Ross County Development.
