Circleville residents had the Pumpkin Show all to themselves Tuesday with "Preview Night." But this morning, the 114th Show starts its official four-day run.
While the mayor is the honorary president of the Show, councilman Barry Keller is the real leader. Kevin Coleman spoke with him before touring the Show.
After missing last year, Keller says the Pumpkin Show is both the same, and different...but everyone is ready to get back to normal. He says it will still have the seven parades, but their usual ride and tent companies closed down because of COVID. (But, there now appear to be even more rides, and the Show is no smaller after the 2020 hiatus).
Keller said, with the challenge of not doing it for two years, volunteers have pulled together to put on the 114th edition.
The main stage remains in the new Pumpkin Show Park, and the OSU Marching Band returns and will be in Thursday's parade. And Keller reminds us: "The price of admission is always free - because we are the gretest free show on earth."
