The Chillicothe Cavaliers opened their homecoming game with an 80 yard touchdown drive and followed by forcing two quick Hillsboro turnovers and two more scores and a 21-0 lead after just one quarter.
The Cavs Max Lee scored the first two touchdowns on runs of 28 and 5 yards. The second score came after an Indian fumble at their 19.
Chillicothe took advantage of a short Hillsboro punt and struck quickly on a one play drive with a 29 yard TD pass from Mason Doughty to Tre King and a 21-0 lead still in the first quarter.
The Indians finally got untracked with their best drive of the night, going 70 yards with quarterback Chris Stout going in from one yard with less than a minute left in the half.
The Cavaliers controlled the second half. Jaiden Cain led the charge to start the second half. Cain returned a punt to the Indian 21, and two plays later caught a short pass from Doughty, broke a tackle and went in on a 20 yard touchdown pass to make it 28-7.
Ty Scales, coming off a two week injury, scored the final Cavalier touchdown rushing from 18 yards out to finish the scoring.
Chillicothe out gained Hillsboro 299 yards to 80. Doughty completed 7 of 11 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Scales ran for 68, Lee 53, Chucky Thomas 35, and freshman Shaun Smith added 28 as the Cavs rushed for 181 yards.
The big stat of the night was the five times Chillicothe started drives inside the Hillsboro 40 yard line.
Chillicothe ups their record to 4-3 and now 2-1 in FAC play. The Cavs host McClain next Friday.
Hillsboro falls to 3-5 and 0-3 in conference play.
