Friday's Grand Jury: Tossing Drug Bag Over Prison Fence, Kicking Deputy

Friday's Ross County Grand Jury returned all 15 of their cases, with four open.

In one, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, at 2:20pm on July 18th, a man was seen tossing a bag over the fence of the Chillicothe Correctional Institution.

28-year-old R.R.J.J. Kendall then ran towards a treeline but was arrested after a short foot pursuit. The bag was found to contain 28 grams of THC.

A nearby vehicle on State Route 104 was stopped and the driver said her boyfriend had given her $90 to take him to the prison. His text messages to her instructed her to delete all of them...and he would die before returning to prison.

For indictments on illegal conveyance of prohibited items, Kendall could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.

In another, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of domestic violence on Marshall Road off Bridge Street.

A 45-year-old Shane M. Carico was accused of assaulting his mother in their home. He was heavily intoxicated and uncooperative, but after being cuffed and brought to his feet, he rushed at an officer and then kicked him in the groin.

For indictments on assault on a peace officer Carico could get up to two years and $6,000 in fines.
