The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 23 of their cases Friday, with four open.
In one, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on June 29th, 29-year-old Stacia L. Christman was being escorted by a deputy from the courthouse to the jail after a hearing on felony child endangering and failure to appear.
She took off her lightweight jail-issued shoes and ran westward down the alley while still in leg shackles, then went down the cross alley and crossed West Main Street. The deputy and a bailiff found her hiding behind the Eastern Star building.
For an indictment on escape, Christman could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines...on top of likely prison time for her other felonies.
In another, on June 28th, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Hill Drive in Bainbridge on a complaint of arson, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office.
A woman said her boyfriend came into her trailer and threw something at her as she was getting up, which engulfed her couch in flames. He left, and two witnesses helped her put out the fire.
For indictments on attempted felonious assault, arson, and aggravated arson, 31-year-old Paul W. Lett of 19 East Fifth Street in Chillicothe could get up to 15 1/2 years and $35,000 in fines.
