The Ross County Commissioners met in regular session a day late because of the holiday. Kevin Coleman was there and asked about any big news.
Dwight Garret said renovation work is restarting on the Law Enforcement Center. He says their new construction manager, Alfred, "is doing a great job of progressing with the project."
The original contractor walked away from the job a year and a half ago, which has set back the timeline for renovations to the 30-plus-year-old building.
The commissioners say that add-ons and the increased price of construction materials have almost doubled the price tag, to about $9 million dollars. But completion is expected early next year.
James Lowe responded to how his first five months have been. He said the three of them were working well together, and that he found things he didn't know...but he's working on them. (Doug Corcoran admitted that he's still learning on the job, too.)
The commissioners say the video feed of meetings will continue for now, but the public is welcome to attend in-person, now that COVID restrictions are much lessened.
