Hillsboro and Chillicothe made up a FAC matchup Monday to finish their seasons. The Lady Cavs matched the Indians point for point for three quarters and trailed only 38-37 heading to the final eight minutes.
The Lady Indians used a 12-0 run to start the fourth quarter to gain the advantage. Chillicothe made a run to pull within 5 but couldn’t get over the hump.
Junior Grace Dean led Hillsboro with 23 points and center Eden Edenfield added 10, despite early foul trouble.
Chillicothe had great balance with sophomore Avery Erslan hitting for 15, while junior Emma Barnes and sophomore Jacey Harding notched 12 points each.
It should be a bright future for the Lady Cavs, with no seniors on the team. The Lady Cavs finish 6-14 on the year.
