Chillicothe & Ross County Libraries Offering Laptop Computers for Checkout

(Chillicothe) -- Need access to a computer, but the library is closed? The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library is pleased to announce that they now have Chromebooks available for a 28-day checkout to their adult card holders.

The laptop computers can be reserved at any of their library locations, or can be checked out for immediate pickup (depending on availability) at the Main and Northside locations. No internet? They also have Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout (also depending on availability).

James Hill, library director explains that “Not everyone's schedule fits the library's hours, so we make Wi-Fi available in our parking areas even when the library is closed. Having Chromebooks to check out means even more people can have access to our databases and other online resources.”

They have made logging on a simple process: you can either use an existing Google account, or use the Chromebook as a guest. The Chromebook is checked out in a protective case, and instructions for use and care are included inside.

For more information, visit CRCPL.org/beyondbooks, visit their Facebook page, or call 740-702-4145.

Chromebook lending at CRCPL is made possible through a United Way of Ross County COVID-19 Response & Recovery grant and a State Library of Ohio CARES Act mini-grant.
