Emergency Cold-Weather Shelter in Chillicothe Now Open

The emergency shelter in Chillicothe is being opened, starting tonight, because of the cold weather.

The location at 400 East Seventh Street, the city-owned former Pepsi warehouse, will accept people only between 8 and 10pm, and will operate until 9am.

Walk-ins are allowed, but free transportation to the site is available at 8pm from the Ross County Outreach Center, Valero on South Paint Street, in front of the Holiday Inn on East Main Street, at the Yoctangee Park Lions Club Shelter, behind Centerpoint Church, and behind Big Lots. Transportation will be provided back to these sites 7 to 9am.

The shelter will remain open through March 31st, 2021.
