81-year-old former Ross County Commissioner Jim Caldwell died Tuesday evening at his home after an extended illness.
His 40 years in that role made him the longest serving county commissioner in Ohio. He retired from it in 2016. Before then, he had served six years on Chillicothe Council, as well as founding his own accounting firm.
Following the private funeral service at Ware Funeral Home, which will be livestreamed, a public graveside service will be about 2pm Saturday in St. Margaret Cemetery in Chillicothe. A celebration of life at Trinity United Methodist Church will be announced later.
His obituary is online at Ware Funeral Home.
