The Chillicothe Cavaliers boys basketball team had to wait over a month to get their regular season started due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but their day to play finally came Tuesday in a home opening loss to a tough Lancaster Golden Gale squad.
Chillicothe stayed close early, before fading late in a 65-51 loss to improve Lancaster's record to (7-1).
The Golden Gales had three players in double figures, led by Cameron Roudabush's 22 points. Sam Fincik added 14 and Blake Snezik with 10.
Chillicothe was led by Donovin Baker's 20 points and 15 came from Jaiden Cain.
Lancaster shot 58% from the floor on 28/48 shooting, committing 8 turnovers. Chillicothe shot 46% with 21/46 from the field.
The Cavs open their FAC schedule Friday when they travel to Hillsboro, who has emerged as a league title threat this season. News Radio WBEX will have the call Friday with airtime approximately 7:20pm.
