Blown Trailer Tire Causes Crash on US 35 Near Bridge Street

A woman was injured in a crash caused by a blown trailer tire Sunday in Ross County.

The Highway Patrol reports at about 11:25am, 54-year-old Brian Davis of West Portsmouth, Ohio, was eastbound in a 1996 Ford Ranger on US-35 near Bridge Street when his trailer tire blew, sending the trailer into a sway. The Ford then traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

42-year-old passenger Elizabeth Davis was trapped inside and was extricated and transported to Adena Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Davis was treated and released on scene.

US 35 eastbound was shut down for about 40 minutes.

The Ohio State Patrol was assisted on the scene by Scioto Township Fire Department and EMS, along with the VA Medical Center Fire Department.
