Ross County Grand Jury: Father Shooting Son, Ex-Boyfriend Taking Car

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 21 of their cases Friday, with four open.

...

In one, a father shot his son after he cussed out his mom when she told him to stop teasing their dog.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, 49-year-old Phillip D. Gordon of Chillicothe shot his 18-year-old son in the upper leg June 14th at their home on East Fourth Street. That was after the son also cussed out his father.

But Gordon was charged with having a weapon under disability after a 2006 Ross County conviction for trafficking in marijuana...as well as felonious assault for the shooting.

For those indictments, Gordon could get up to 11 years and $25,000 in fines.

...

In another: If at first you can't borrow a car, or hotwire it...don't take its keys.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on September 6th, 37-year-old Todd R. Rhea asked his ex-girlfriend to use her car, which she refused.

He then tried to hotwire the car, and when she saw him doing that he shoved her down, took the keys from her pocket, and fled in the car. He was arrested five days later.

For an indictment for robbery Rhea could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.
