The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to an injury crash on State Route 93 near mile post 3 involving a pick-up truck and horse drawn buggy. The post was notified of the crash at 7:56 PM by the Vinton County Sherriff’s Office.
Jack A. Firestone, age 58, of McArthur Ohio, was northbound on State Route 93 in a 1999 Ford Ranger pick-up when he struck a horse-drawn buggy, also traveling north on State Route 93, operated by Eli Raber, age 20, of Hamden Ohio.
Firestone’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and overturning back onto its wheels. Raber was ejected from the buggy and sustained incapacitating injuries.
Raber was transported by ground by Vinton County EMS to Holzer Medical Center in Jackson with incapacitating injuries. Firestone sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Hamden Fire Department, Vinton County Sheriff’s Office and Vinton County EMS assisted at the scene.
