In Chillicothe, golf carts are now permitted to be driven in city limits.
On Monday, Chillicothe Council passed legislation that allows under speed vehicles, such as golf carts, to be part of the City's Codified Ordinances. The legislation to regulate golf cart usage in the city was assigned to the Safety Services Committee in March.
In other business, Council held off on providing second readings of ordinances that would impact Water Department fees and adopt revised Utility Department rules and regulations. Instead, a committee meeting to further discuss these items was scheduled for 7 p.m. on August 3.
Also at the meeting, Council passed:
an ordinance to adjust wages of seasonal staff and adding a seasonal employee for the Engineering Office;
an ordinance accepting grant funds for the Transit Department;
an ordinance accepting $5,762.25 received as payoff of a CHIP mortgage;
an ordinance accepting $750 in grant funds for the Fire Department’s Senior Home Inspection Program;
an ordinance accepting $1,000 in grant funds received from the Public Entities Pool of Ohio Insurance.
