Chillicothe Council Makes Quick Work of Light Legislative Agenda

At Monday's regular meeting, Chillicothe Council passed two ordinances on first reading, waiving the three-read rule. The first ordinance accepted a $781.25 claims payment for painting the Chillicothe Fire Department's damaged overhead door. The second ordinance accepted $606.30 for hazmat reimbursement.

In other business, Council heard the first reading of an ordinance that would add under speed vehicles, such as golf carts, to the city's Codified Ordinances.

Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney anticipated that Council will see a first-reading recommendation regarding exact locations and fees for parking meters at the next regular council session. In May, Council members approved the spending of $23,000 to place parking meters along portions of Paint and Second streets.
