Chillicothe Mayor Details Reason For Police "Use Of Force" Committee Study

Last weekend, Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney told the crowd of racial justice protesters that the city will be looking at the police departments "use of force" policies.

Mayor Feeney says their current policy is based on what is considered national standards. Feeney says they have had a couple of complaints about the local police department in the four years he has been mayor, which escalated into more than just complaints.

The mayor says they will be working on appointing members of the community panel, with a goal of getting the report back to the community withing 90 days. Feeney says if changes are needed, they will be made.

Feeney says it is important that this committee is not led by himself or the police department, but get community participation that can communicate their constructive concerns to city leadership and the police department.
