On this date in 1935, Ohio State's Jesse Owens completed what would become known as the Greatest 45-Minutes Ever in Sport.
At a Big Ten meet in Ann Arbor, Owens, a 21-year-old OSU sophomore, broke or equaled four world records in under an hour in one of the most astounding feats in sports history.
Owens first tied the world record in the 100-yard dash and then set the world record in the long jump, the 220-yard dash and the 220 low hurdles.
One year later, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Owens would win four gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters, the long jump, and the four by 100 relay.
