The Chillicothe Municipal Court is making a request that the City of Chillicothe authorize the Court to apply for the Victims of Crime Act Grant and State Victim’s Assistance Act Grant, and for the City to pay its share of those grants. If approved the grants would extend the Chillicothe Municipal Court Victim Witness Assistance Program for one year, from October 1st of 2020 to September 30th of 2021.
The grants provide assistance to crime victims for services such as crisis counseling, criminal justice support, shelter and more.
The request is now under consideration by the Chillicothe Finance Committee, with the application deadline scheduled for June 5th.
