(24/7 News) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation says it will close down two downtown ramps off I-71 beginning on Thursday. The ramps from I-71 south to Broad Street, and Broad Street to I-71 north will be shuttered permanently.
The ramps are being closed off as part of an overall redesign of access to and from the downtown area while also eliminating forced lane changes on the I-70 to I-71 overlap.
Drivers needing to get to Broad Street will now take Spring Street to Cleveland Avenue, Main Street, or Grant Avenue while those heading out of downtown can get to I-71 by taking 4th Street or Main Street.
