Foodbank Needs Greater During Emergency

Volunteers at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank are working overtime to meet the needs of those affected by closures and layoffs as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in Ohio.

Agency CEO Matt Habash says the warehouse is running about 20-percent above normal and the food pantry is running over 50-percent higher than normal capacity.

The donations continually come in from farmers and the foodbank's corporate partners. He adds as you can imagine, they're not seeing many contributions from retail grocers, since they're selling everything they have..

Habash says a one-dollar donation can provide up to 9-dollars worth of food and supplies to those in need.
