According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, at Massieville Road and Trego Creek Road on January 23rd, a Highway Patrol Trooper saw a Chevy Tracker with no front licence plate.

The driver made an abrupt turn, cut through a yard, and gave chase, reaching 90 miles and hour on Massieville Road while committing moving violations.

After making a U-turn onto US 23 South, the driver steered into a yard, went behind a house, and landed in a swimming pool. 47-year-old William T. Diltz took off on foot and was caught a quarter mile away, while two females in the SUV remained at the scene

For indictments on failure to comply, Diltz could get up to three years and $10,000 in fines.

In another case, a man is accused of eating a pill to dispose of evidence.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on December 14th, 18-year-old Evan C. Lemaster caught the attention of a Highway Patrol Trooper on US 23 and was pulled over and failed a field sobriety test.

He was taken to the Highway Patrol post to give a urine sample, but troopers noticed he kept putting his hands in his pants...and then found a possible Xanax pill on the floor, which they set atop a cabinet nearby.

A resulting third search of Lemaster turned up a .38 caliber semiautomatic handgun, with one un-chambered round, near his crotch. After securing that, troopers returned...to find Lemaster had eaten the pill. He was taken to a hospital later.

For indictments on carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with evidence, Lemaster could get up to four and a half years and $15,000 in fines.
