Pickerington North Outguns Chillicothe to End Cavs Season

The Chillicothe Cavaliers great season which included an FAC and sectional title, ended Wednesday with their 64-38 loss to the Pickerington North Panthers. The Cavs close their season at (19-5) while the Panthers head to the district finals at (21-4).

After both teams went scoreless in the first minute, Pick North lit their offensive fire on a 67% shooting percentage to build a 21-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and 35-13 at halftime. The Cavs cut it to 48-29 after three quarters and the final of 64-38.

The Panthers Casey George scored 14 points in the first quarter, and went on to lead all scorers for the game with 22 points. They also saw Jerry Saunders and Chris Scott each had 10 points.

Four Chillicothe players got into the scoring column and were led by Brandon Noel with 19 points and Jayvon Maughmer added 12. Tre Beard added 6 and Vinny Roper with 1 point.

The Cavs were 14/36 from the field for 39%- including 4/16 from the arc and added 6/8 free throws. They also had 24 rebounds. Pickerington North shot 25/44 from the floor- including 6/15 from the arc for 57% and added 6/10 from the free throw line. The Panthers had 27 rebounds.
