While it has taken many months to get it this far, the proposal to change Second Street into a two-way street between Main and Mulberry is getting closer to a full city council vote.
"The money has been appropriated to do the actual physical requirements ... needed to change it to two way," said Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney, "but the ordinance book actually says which way streets flow, and that component has not passed council."
Feeney said the next step is for a committee to complete a final recommendation regarding that aspect of the proposal.
The idea to change the one-way street to two-way has been pushed by several businesses in that area of Chillicothe's downtown, with some opposition.
