The Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau is now accepting applications for its 2020 Promotional Assistance Program and nominations for its annual Pineapple Awards.

Each year, the Bureau budgets monies into its Promotional Assistance Program and Brochure Assistance Program to assist area attractions, events, and activities. These programs are open to both non-profit and for-profit organizations that match the criteria within the programs’ guidelines.

The Promotional Assistance Program allows the Bureau to participate within the community by aiding eligible candidates to provide an avenue for the organizers of the events to promote their activity to increase awareness and the potential for tourism visitations. This program is open to events that are within their first five-years of operations. Submissions for this program must be made before April 15, 2020 to be considered by the grant committee. Total funding for the program is $10,000 this year.

In addition, the Bureau’s Brochure Assistance Program, is designed to assist with funding promotional materials for an organization, event or program to increase visibility of the county’s attractions, culture and heritage. Applicants may apply throughout the year for assistance from this program by meeting the guidelines and as funds remain available.

Recognizing “the best of the best” in hospitality has become tradition during the Bureau’s annual Tourism Banquet and Pineapple Awards. Categories for nominations include: Volunteer of the Year, Front Line Associate of the Year, Behind the Scenes Associate of the Year and Director / Innkeeper of the Year. Many sectors play a role in tourism such as attractions, events, lodging facilities, and local restaurants and shops. Nominations can be made by managers, co-workers, volunteers and peers who have experienced the nominee going above and beyond their job description to ensure visitors have an exceptional experience.
