Chillicothe Council Committees Looking at New Assignments

Chillicothe City Council President Bruce Arnold is issuing several assignments to the various city council committees this week.

.

The Transit Committee will consider legislation to appropriate $6,500 in assisted funding for a mobility manager.

.

Parks and Rec issued a request for legislation to accept and appropriate a $400 donation from the Ross County AmVets Council for the city’s memorial park.

.

Multiple requests issued to the city engineering committee. That includes an appropriation of $4,000 to the floodwall fund for the payment of remaining electric bills for 2019. There’s also a request to appropriate $6,500 to engineering and code enforcement for training and other related expenses. Additionally, there’s also a request to appropriate $12,000 to code enforcement for the demolition and clean-up of noncompliant properties.

.

Another request to the engineering committee seeks an appropriation of $9,800 for additional funds for the resurfacing of Bridge Street from the city limits to Eastern Avenue.

.

The final request for the engineering committee involves a $50,000 appropriation for the purchase of new signs and the painting of streets in the area of the city’s two new elementary schools.

.

City Service Committee Chairman, Aaron Hines, is also calling for a meeting of that committee for this Monday, August 26th. That 6:30 p.m. meeting will involve discussions dealing with a possible purchase of the former Pepsi Warehouse property along Seventh and Redd Steets. The city recently put in a bid for the property, which if closed on, would allow the city to consolidate several city offices into one location.

.

That meeting will be followed by Chillicothe City Council's regular meeting at 7:00 p.m.
