Chillicothe VFW Post To Celebrate 100th Year

Chillicothe Post 108 of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars will celebrate their 100th anniversary, May 16th. The Edwin F. Glenn VFW Post 108 will host a "members only" centennial celebration.

The post was created on May 16th of 1919 by returning World War 1 veterans, as well as Spanish-American War vets. It was named in honor of Camp Sherman commander, Major General Edwin F. Glenn.

One of the charter members of the post, when it opened in 1919, was a survivor of the U.S.S. Maine, which had exploded in Havana Harbor in 1898, starting the Spanish American War.
