Monday evening, Chillicothe Council considered obeying the supreme court.
Jean Kerney explained legislation she is sponsoring to repeal a city ordinance prohibiting begging in a public place.
She said the issue was declared unconstitutional by the Ohio as well as U.S. supreme courts, so the city is following suit...and can do so quickly.
Kerney said the old ordinance really isn't used anyhow. The police chief told her other ordinances cover the issue as needed.
