More Floodwater Closings

Water may be on roadways from flooding and melt off, which could be treacherous in our sub-freezing temperatures.  Flood warnings along the Scioto River are posted for Circleville and Waverly.

As of 2pm, ODOT reports State Route 220 in Pike County remains closed today, January 25, at C.R. 51 (River Road) and the CSX Railroad crossing, one mile east of Waverly, due to high water.

In addition to this, S.R. 239 has been closed between U.S. 52 and S.R. 73 at West Portsmouth, and S.R. 73 East is closed at the U.S. 52/S.R. 852 overpasses at Portsmouth as a result of flooding.

In Hocking County, as of 3:30pm, State Route 595 between State Route 278 and the Perry County line is closed due to high water.

Although the duration of closure is unknown, it is anticipated that the routes will be closed through the weekend.  ODOT crews will be monitoring these locations to determine when the routes may be cleared for traffic.

In the interim, motorists are reminded that crossing any route is strictly prohibited.  Remember: Turn around, don't drown!
