Chillicothe PD & Churches Provide Homeless Shelter

The Chillicothe Police Department, along with Community Outreach for Christ Ministries, Harvest Center Church of God and Jefferson Avenue CCCU are hosting the first round of temporary shelter for the homeless. 

 

The shelter will be at Ross County Community Action, 250 North Woodbridge Avenue, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week. 

 

Starting Sunday, January 27, the shelter will be moved to Jefferson Avenue CCCU Church, 770 Jefferson Avenue. The shelter will be open from 10pm – 7am each night THE WEATHER IS BELOW 30 DEGREES. If the weather is over 30 degrees, the shelter will not be operation.

 

If someone is seeking shelter there is transportation available from 9pm – 10pm at the following locations: 

  • Yoctangee Park Amory
  • Valero South Paint Street
  • Valero Bridge Street at Second Street
  • Strawser Park
  • Speedway East Main Street


Again, this transportation is only available between 9pm – 10pm. If they do not make it for the transportation we will have to make other arrangements for them to get to the shelter.
