The Jackson Post of the Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle injury crash on State Route 93 south of McArthur near Meeksville Road at about 5:01am today.
19-year-old Jeffery Harper III of McArthur was northbound on State Route 93 in a 1994 Toyota Tacoma when it traveled off the right side, struck an embankment, and overturned multiple times, ejecting Harper before it came to rest against a tree.
Harper was transported to Holzer Medical Center in Jackson then transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by Portsmouth Ambulance.
Harpers’ condition was unknown at the time of reporting. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a factor.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Vinton County Sheriff’s Department and Vinton County EMS.
The Highway Patrol reminds motorists to wear their safety belts.
