The Jackson Post of the Highway Patrol reported a two-car injury crash this Friday afternoon, at the rest area on US 35 between Richmond Dale and Jackson.
At about 12:33pm, 32-year-old Amy S. Henry of Wellston was westbound on US 35 in a 2007 BMW sedan. 74-year-old Everett R. McDaniel of Gallipolis was turning east in a 2010 Honda Accord from the rest area onto US 35 when he failed to yield and was struck by Ms. Henry.
McDaniel and his passenger, 72-year-old Patricia A. McDaniel of Gallipolis, were transported to Holzer Hospital in Jackson with incapacitating injuries. Ms. Henry sustained non-incapacitating injuries, and was not transported.
Westbound US 35 was reduced to one lane for about an hour during the investigation.
